Two persons have died after a trailer reportedly knocked two persons to death at Oghara Community, Chief James Onanefe Ibori’s hometown in Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The gory incident occurred at about 1 pm on Thursday, DAILY POST can report.
It was learned that a commercial motorcyclist also sustained serious injuries as a result of the fatal accident.
The deceased include a woman and a baby of about four years old.
Reports say the trailer was on high speed, had a failed brake and in the process, veered off the road where it knocked the commercial motorcycle wherein the two persons, a woman, and her baby died on the spot.
At the time of this report, no arrest has been made by the Police in Oghara Divisional Headquarters.
However, it was gathered that the driver of the trailer quickly escaped from the scene for his own safety.
When contacted for comments, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the report in a telephone chat with Our Correspondent in Warri.
DSP Onovwakpoyeya said, “It is true. Two people died. A woman and a baby of four. One other person was also injured and has been rushed to the hospital.”
